The corresponding paragraph in the docs refers to the simple
WhitespaceAnalyzer. By default, eXist uses Lucene's StandardAnalyzer,
which applies a stopword filter. You can easily switch to the
WhitespaceAnalyzer though:

<analyzer class="org.apache.lucene.analysis.WhitespaceAnalyzer"/>

I still plan to add a way to create a custom analyzer on the fly by
configuring its components...
