Two approaches possible: (1) add a link per > page or (2) add the icon (like tomcat) to the server's context? Thanks....I took the 32x32 and knocked it down to 16x16 (and fixed the shadows a bit since that small they made the X look too fat). Put .png and .ico version in the /webapp/resources dir. Then I added favicon icons to common pages that might be bookmarked by eXist users (eg. Home, Admin, Sandbox, Functions, etc). Didn't bother with the examples stuff though. Used the <link rel-""> approach since that allows other pages/applications to more easily set their own icons or for them to be changed on a page by page basis in the future. All checked into eXist SVN HEAD and works fine under Firefox. I wanted this personally, since I have common eXist bookmarks in my Firefox Bookmarks Toobar pointing to my localhost version which is very handy for when you are doing eXist/XQuery development. Having the favicons means you can shorten the text descriptions in the toolbar even more (eg. no need for the word "eXist" since the icon is plenty) thus saving space in the toolbar. Not as big a feature as some of the stuff that Wolfie delivers on a regular basis, like concurrency, performance, etc., but cosmetics can be nice to have and it's good to have more branding for eXist when users create bookmarks. ;-) Enjoy! -- Andrzej Taramina Chaeron Corporation: Enterprise System Solutions http://www.chaeron.com |
