Hi eXist list, In the past few days I've encountered problems with a fresh installation of 1.2.4. I'd appreciate any assistance troubleshooting. Here's what's happening: - I use the java admin client to restore my files from backups created using the java admin client (3.5 megs zipped, 7 megs unzipped, 3,635 files, 25 folders; + 12.5 megs of binary jpg/pdf files) - The logs show all of the files were successfully uploaded - The website I'm serving from eXist appears to be working just fine - Then the logs begin to show exceptions, then the server becomes unresponsive - I have our server admin shut eXist down, remove the .dbx and .log files, restart; I restore files from backup again; the problem starts again - I had no such problems using these same files on my home machine (iMac intel running a stock 1.2.4 installation) - I'm clueless about what's causing this on the Windows server - could it be memory settings? First, I'm running eXist using the wrapper tool on a Win2K server, with the following memory settings: - exist/conf.xml: <db-connection cacheSize="48M" collectionCache="24M" database="native" files="webapp/WEB-INF/data" pageSize="4096"> - exist/bin/startup.bat: set JAVA_OPTS="-Xms16000k -Xmx128000k -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -Djava.endorsed.dirs=%JAVA_ENDORSED_DIRS%" - exist/tools/wrapper/conf/wrapper.conf: # Initial Java Heap Size (in MB) wrapper.java.initmemory=16 # Maximum Java Heap Size (in MB) wrapper.java.maxmemory=128 Second, here are the exceptions - they reappear over and over: [1] 2008-08-19 15:35:47,390 [P1-8] DEBUG (HttpConnection.java [handleNext]:995) - EXCEPTION EOFException() at org.mortbay.http.HttpRequest.readHeader(HttpRequest.java:241) at org.mortbay.http.HttpConnection.readRequest(HttpConnection.java:866) at org.mortbay.http.HttpConnection.handleNext(HttpConnection.java:912) at org.mortbay.http.HttpConnection.handle(HttpConnection.java:837) at org.mortbay.http.SocketListener.handleConnection(SocketListener.java:245) at org.mortbay.util.ThreadedServer.handle(ThreadedServer.java:357) at org.mortbay.util.ThreadPool$PoolThread.run(ThreadPool.java:534) [2] 2008-08-19 15:37:17,344 [P1-8] DEBUG (HttpConnection.java [handleNext]:995) - EXCEPTION java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out at java.net.SocketInputStream.socketRead0(Native Method) at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(Unknown Source) at org.mortbay.util.LineInput.fill(LineInput.java:477) at org.mortbay.util.LineInput.fillLine(LineInput.java:555) at org.mortbay.util.LineInput.readLineBuffer(LineInput.java:301) at org.mortbay.util.LineInput.readLineBuffer(LineInput.java:285) at org.mortbay.http.HttpRequest.readHeader(HttpRequest.java:240) at org.mortbay.http.HttpConnection.readRequest(HttpConnection.java:866) at org.mortbay.http.HttpConnection.handleNext(HttpConnection.java:912) at org.mortbay.http.HttpConnection.handle(HttpConnection.java:837) at org.mortbay.http.SocketListener.handleConnection(SocketListener.java:245) at org.mortbay.util.ThreadedServer.handle(ThreadedServer.java:357) at org.mortbay.util.ThreadPool$PoolThread.run(ThreadPool.java:534) [3] 2008-08-19 15:50:34,740 [Acceptor ServerSocket[addr=0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0,port=0,localport=8080]] DEBUG (LogSupport.java [ignore]:36) - IGNORED java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Accept timed out at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketAccept(Native Method) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.accept(Unknown Source) at java.net.ServerSocket.implAccept(Unknown Source) at java.net.ServerSocket.accept(Unknown Source) at org.mortbay.util.ThreadedServer.acceptSocket(ThreadedServer.java:432) at org.mortbay.util.ThreadedServer$Acceptor.run(ThreadedServer.java:634) Can anyone can divine what is going wrong from reading these errors? I'd be grateful for any suggestions! Thanks! - Joe |
