I have actually encountered the same results as Rene using the same = settings. Maybe there is a limit on the maximum number of files that can be stored = in a collection. Then again, it might be the use of non-optimal settings as Michael = described it. Guillermo -----Original Message----- From: exi...@li... Hi, Welcome to the list :) I can't give you all the answers, but some cvs versions ago I tested=20 eXist to handle up to 100.000 docs about the same size you mention (2k / = 3k) There's a difference in performance when running eXist solo or with al=20 the 'bells' (cocoon etc) I used XMLRPC to connect to the eXist db and it = performed very impressive on the search-part. My advice is to keep your collections small, a maximum of 10.000 docs in = each collection. I noticed a performance difference when the collection=20 got too big. (>>10000) So perhaps it's an idea to work with a certain=20 collection-tree to store your data. It will take me a while before doing more extensive test, but this is=20 what I know.
