Hi Christofer, I would be interested in trying your special xmldb-driver. Do you have any information or experience concerning memory consumption and system performance when addressing multiple instances of the database? I thought about implementing something like this as well but didn't because I suspected that multiple instances of the database would greatly increase Memory consumption. I use Cocoon to serve several customers domains. The page data is stored in each customers own eXsit database (instance-name = domain-name) in each customers own data-directory. The problem I ran into was that I had to adapt my Cocoon sitemap for every new domain. In order to avoid this I modified the org.exist.xmldb.DatabaseImpl to do ONLY LOCAL CALLS and to use the host part of the resource to switch the instance name. Example: Requeast to xmldb:exist:\\host1.de..... goes to exist instance with the name host1.de on localhost. This way I don't have to reconfigure Cocoon every time I create modify or delete a domain.
