What is the DOCTYPE? The server needs to be able to resolve the DOCTYPE reference (system or public ID) in order to validate the file. If it's a public DTD you should be okay. ? If it's your own DTD, you can install it in the server so it recognizes it on the incoming files. Look at WEB-INF/conf.xml: it has an element //entity-resolver/catalog whose "file" attribute points to an OASIS catalog. You install your DTD information in there.
