Has anyone used EB with a Compaq "cpqarray" disk controller, or any other system with "extended BIOS data area" - which according to the Intel PXE manual takes up an extra 1-2k at 0x9f800. pxespec p83 if you are interested - I quote: "Not all BIOSes have this. Those that do, have 1K or 2K of data". Sadly, the systems we got to use for our potential customer were dl360s (which do apparently use this extended area and Etherboot didn't work, or rather *did* work, but caused the Compaq BIOS not to. It works fine on our dl320s, and we *thought* we were getting 320s for the demo... :( Vasil's got a patch in the works, but unfortunately we don't have such a system to hand for testing, though we might be able to get a contact at Compaq to try this for us. So, has anyone else had problems? It would seem to be a generic Etherboot problem, not PXE specific. |
