Hello, I use dnsmasq to setup a DHCP/TFTP server, I think I configured it properly since I can boot my laptop with it built-in ROM. However, the another machine with VIA rhine chip can't boot, I tried gPXE git and 0.9.6, neither success. Finally I tried the lagacy Etherboot ROM, it *works* ... I have no idea why the newer gPXE can't work. When I use gPXE it receives address and configure the interface up, but it complains "No root path, or file name ...". All of the gPXE and Etherboot ROM I used are in Linux kernel format. The following is the settings of my dnsmasq server. ... ... ... # NTP server dhcp-option=42,0.0.0.0 # WINS server dhcp-option=44,0.0.0.0 dhcp-boot=pxelinux.0 enable-tftp tftp-root=/mnt/pxe/boot ... ... ... |
