Hello, The initial work is done! a Sparc says hello With the source code in http://www.stappers.nl/gpm/code/gpxe/sparc/gpxe-sparc-obp-sandbox.tar.gz it is possible let a UltraSPARC with OpenBoot prom say 'hello world'. The code is based on SILO, the Sparc Improved LOader, ( http://www.sparc-boot.org ) It is build with the build system of gPXE. So it has: * Makefile structure as gPXE * Dependency generating strips * linker script * "media" * prefix file Now that 'hello world' in C is possible, is continuing with the port of gPXE to SPARCs with OpenBoot proms easier. But there is still a lot to do, e.g. detecting PCI devices. The provided tarball contains only files under src/arch/sparc/obp/sandbox so it can't harm current gPXE. However it is good thing if it will be included in the gPXE mainline tree. Anyway, those who want it, enjoy it! Cheers Geert Stappers |
