Striper, Jacob, thanks for your help. Well the situation is like this. I followed the instructions on how to boot winPE from http://wiki.snet.at/doku.php/boot_winpe_2.0_from_linux_pxe_server It loaded successfully pxeboot.n12 and right after I received the message: "Download failed" I have looked on the tftp log at var/log/messages: " remap: input: /Boot/pxeboot.n12 remap: done RRQ from 11.4.3.130 filename /Boot/pxeboot.n12 remap: input: / remap: done RRQ from 11.4.3.130 filename / sending NAK (0, Is a directory) to 11.4.3.130 " After pxeboot.n12 is loaded it should try to load the bootmgr file, but by looking at tftp log, we can see that it is not trying to load bootmgr, it tries to load a file called "/", which of course not exist. Configuration: dhcpd.conf: next-server 11.4.3.7; #forgot to mention last time allow booting; allow bootp; option root-path "/tftpboot"; filename "/Boot/pxeboot.n12"; tftp command: ./in.tftpd -vvvvvv -l -m /etc/default/tftpd.rules -s /tftpboot /etc/default/tftpd.rules rg \\ / # Convert backslashes to slashes Thanks, Itay On Jan 22, 2008 7:19 PM, striper fisherman <str...@gm...> wrote: > There were some messages regarding WinPE boot failure. > > I missed the beginning of thread. > > I have some experience booting WinPE from a linux tftpd. > > Please repost a summary of the WinPE boot problem and I will try to help. > > > striper23 > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft > Defy all challenges.
