I am doing a bit of performance testing with yaws and was wondering if there are any best practices. I currently am running it with, four schedulers (this seemed to help performance on my dual core machine), kernel polling on, the latest version of Erlang and increased ulimits. The configuration is very basic serving only static content. Is there anything more I can do? The reason I ask is due to something I am seeing when performance 5000 requests in my tests. This means that I am making 5000 connections at a rate of 500 a second. On each connection I am making 10 calls before closing it. I am seeing appropriate results for 1000 to 3000 but at 4000 and 5000 the request rate drops off to 3722.9 and 3126.3 respectively. These numbers should generally be very close to testing request rates (4000 and 5000). Any ideas what might cause this? I am not seeing the same sort of results from other webservers (nginx etc). Any help would be appreciated. -Joe -- Name: Joseph A. Williams Email: jo...@jo... Blog: http://www.joeandmotorboat.com/ |
