If there are 2 shows (specifically remakes, e.g. House of Cards), how can EPGC be configured to default to work with the remake?
The BBC version of House of Cards produced in 1990 has theTVDB ID of 79861. The 2013 series catalogued at theTVDB as "House of Cards (US)" with an ID of 262980 can be confused for the 1990 series if the EPG listing broadcast OTA is not specific enough. Generally, the broadcasters are lazy and don't refer to theTVDB when they're putting their programme schedules together.
Is there some kind of translation function within EPGC, so that the user could hard wire EPGC to assume that a given TV show title refers to a theTVDB ID of the user's choosing? I've done a search and I'm not finding anything to offer me much help.
Thanks .. ;-)

If the year is broadcast it is used to identify the correct version of a movie but there is no such facility for TV series and currently no way for the user to specify which entry is the correct one.

Maybe one to think about for the future?
Absolutely. Fortunately remakes of TV series are pretty rare.
