Dear All at emc-developers, please accept my most profound apolgies for asking such a fundamental = question,=20 but its a while since I did any serious programming and I've just got = totally stuck. I am trying to compile EMC to run on a Redhat 8 system. I've downloaded = the=20 rtlinux-3.2-pre3 patch, recompiled a linux ver 2_4_20 kernel, configured = and run rtlinux, no problem - have the regression tests running and rtlinux = starts up and=20 reports that it can load its modules. Now I try to download emc and rcslib from sourceforge - can't get the = rcslib via=20 cvs update - just times out or reports strange errors. Even more = fundamental=20 than that, the integrator.pdf doc says to 'cd emc/plat/realtime/include' = (p27) -=20 which doesn't actually exist -so the instructions seem to be duff to me. = =20 In fact, the instructions in this file seem to refer to all sorts of = different versions=20 of linux, different kernel, different sources and versions of emc and = rcslib - and=20 none of them seem to be complete or correct - none of them take you from = start=20 to finish, download, compile, run. Does this information exist anywhere or does everyone go through the = pain=20 of working this all out for themselves ? I guess I'm just not looking in = the=20 right places, but at this point, I can't find any instructions for = correctly=20 compiling and installing emc and rcslib using rtlinux_3.2_pre3 and a=20 kernel version of 2_4_20. Am I trying to do something that I shouldn't = be ? Any assistance would be very greatfully recieved - been bashing my head=20 up against this for two days now and getting nowhere fast !
