C/C++ source files which use the functions and structures defined in hal_priv.h are potentially going to be affected by the changes I'm proposing. halmodule.cc, the C++ implementation of the Python hal module, is potentially affected. However, I consider myself a maintainer of that file so I hope to correct any breakage that occurs there as I update hal's internal data structures.
