To slap a config together I do exactly what a noob would do. select the basic config of the machine and the system(metric/english) it will run in. For the numbers to remain the same for both is erm...not sensible to put it politely, yes more help on the way helps the noob but sensible defaults matter, none would just make it more broken than now.
