Emacs-on-Aqua is just not useable right now IMHO. It's pretty outdated as you said as it is based on Emacs 20.7 compared to the recent 21.4. I guess ECB just won't run on this old Emacs. I you are searching for a recent Carbon Emacs, i.e. a Emacs running naitively on OS X without X11 you should check one of the follwoing resources: http://home.att.ne.jp/alpha/z123/emacs-mac-e.html http://yaced.sourceforge.net/ http://www.wordtech-software.com/aquamacs.html All three are differnt distributions of a recent CVS Emacs with different patches and pre-installed packages and configurations. I would check which one you like the best and then start working with it. I'm using ECB with a CarbonEmacs built directly from CVS which gave me the most freedom to configure it as i wanted it but for the beginner one of the above should be fine. I you have more Questions about CarbonEmacsen try the list: http://www.esm.psu.edu/mac-tex/ --> Mailing Lists/Emacs on Mac OS X Mailing List Best regards Martin -- Nudists are people who wear one-button suits. |
