Well, probably asynchronous would be indeed faster, but it is much more effort running all this stuff asynch and then synching up with the stealthy tasks in the tree-buffers which updates the vc-states... Anyway, good suggestion but too much effort for me...at least now and in the near future... But if you set vc-cvs-stay-local to t or only-file then there shouldn't be any ping! Why you get pings? Could you please describe the context? Or reduce the number of pings from 2 to 1 by ecb-ping-options... Thanks for helping testing! By the way, it seems the ping blocked Emacs.
