Could someone walk me through the steps of recovering the mpeg and png (button) parts of the menus of a DVD? (I do not need the menu structure in XML itself, I can easily manually recreate this for dvdauthor.) I have a DVD that I wish to reauthor. It was not made with dvdauthor. Experimenting with mplayer, it appears that VIDEO_TS.VOB (obtained via dvdbackup) is the only file that contains the menu structure(s) - the first menu appears when it is played with mplayer and tcprobe show this file has a subtile as well as several SCR resets. (The other VOBs appear to be just the main feature and tcprobe tells me that these do not have anything else, besides the main A/V material, such as subtitles.) It is true that spuunmux only works with dvdauthor (or dvdunauthor) created VOBs? In my case, dvdunauthor creates an amazing 75 or so VOBs from a DVD that is supposed to have simple menu structure. Spuunmux does not seem to be able to extract any images from the subtitles of these VOBs (neither the original VIDEO_TS.VOB nor the many little VOBs from dvdunauthor). So, how does one best go about recovering the mpegs and pngs that compose the menu screens and buttons? Thanks in advance, Mike Shell |
