I apologize for this. It was all my fault. I was playing with drive
firmware before the failures and forgot to restore the original (working)
firmware. dump is working fine. It does sometimes miscalculate size of the
volume (and ends up with messages like:
  DUMP: estimated 1126323 tape blocks.
....
  DUMP: 93.08% done, finished in 0:02
  DUMP: 109.01% done, finished in 0:-3
  DUMP: DUMP: 1230156 tape blocks on 1 volumes(s)
but this is minor.)
