-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 1. It was the rules I had set up in my local.rules file that was "borking" udev's make_extra_nodes.sh (who'd thunk it ;) ). I commented the two rules for my DVD/CD-R and my DVD-ROM, uncommented the section that I had posted about earlier and BAM (to quote Emeril), both are set up correctly with the correct symlinks. 2. Been "tinkering" around with fstab and removed all cdrom/dvd/usbhd entries to test automounting. WORKS LIKE A TOP! Of course the proper entries are put into fstab by "fstab-sync" (?), for all of the devices for which I don't have static entries. I know that I, and others, have said this before but automounting/autodetection in this version of DLG is working better than I have EVER had it to work, period. Pop in a CD and an icon for it pops up on the desktop. Pop in an audio CD and Totem opens and starts playing it. Plug in a USB thumb/jump drive, again an icon pops up on the desktop. I have a 20 GB USB external HD that as soon as DLG loads there is an icon for it on my desktop. Pop in a movie DVD and Totem starts playing the movie. BTW, the screensaver wasn't locked up after 5 hours of running when I got in from my internship this afternoon, and the one on my build PC has been running for over 9 hours with no lockups. Also to clarify, I double checked and my build PC is NOT using the ATI drivers, just the ones that come with Xorg. If this continues to happen on my main PC I'm going to ditch the ATI drivers and just use the ones that come with Xorg as well. I don't game and don't really do much 3D stuff anyway. Going to be gone for the weekend. Will be able to check back on Sunday. Yall have a good weekend.
