Hi guys, first let me introduce myself, my name is Heron Ordoñez, and i own a i810 card, i dont use a distribution since i compiled all my software from sources (LFS-HOWTO, if you are interested). well, this year's build was like: glibc-2.2.4, linux-2.4.17, Xfree86-420..... and so on. i used to have DRI working in this same computer, with kernel 2.4.1 and X4.0.1... and quake3 was really smooth and all, but i cant get it to work with the newest versions of everything.... it first complained about version issues, thats solved compiling the kernel modules from within the xc source tree, then, the logs seemed to complain about a "char-major-226" module not being found (again solved with the proper config of the /etc/modules.conf), and now the X log shows that the kernel drivers are working, and that X ( --depth 16) starts the DRI with no problems, but glxinfo reports no direct rendering, and any 3d app works like it should (quake3 and rune_demo, not to mention the xmms gl visualizations plugins) reading through this mailing list, i read that MAYBE the problem is about a library? (i810_drv.so?), anyway , my X log does only report 2 warnings. (no errors).. one telling that the AGPMode option in the config file is not used and other telling something about agp memory.... (is this the problem)? BUT also reports Direct Rendering Enabled just after that warning.... so what can it be? please help me, i know you guys can get me fragging again in no time.... thanks _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com |
