Hi, I'm trying to make use of DRI with a Matrox g450. I tried the vanilla XFree86 4.1 binaries but could never get X server to show the XFree86-DRI extension. So I downloaded the DRI source and built that pulling in the Matrox HAL library and following the DRI compilation instructions. Now at least when I start the X server it triggers the loading of the mga.o kernel module and shows all the expected extensions from xdpyinfo: GLX SGI-GLX XFree86-DRI (others omitted) but still when I run glxinfo it shows: OpenGL vendor string: VA Linux Systems, Inc. OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect OpenGL version string: 1.2 Mesa 3.4.2 (ldd glxinfo shows the correct libraries i.e. the ones out of /usr/X11R6-DRI being found) My XF86Config file has a "DRI" section with just "Mode 0666" in it. My X server never shows any of the "[drm]" initialization strings that the DRI Users Guide says to expect. How can I find out more information about what's going wrong? I'm running on a dual Pentium III with Linux 2.4.3. Aside from not getting DRI going the g450 seems to work fine. I couldn't find any reports of similar problems so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tim. |
