Howdy, I kept myself out on the edge of insanity today by upgrading my slackware-current system to latest packages (glibc 2.2, binutils 2.10.0.33, gcc 2.95.2, etc.) I also upgraded the kernel to 2.4.0-test11. Then, I cvsupped and recompiled DRI. The problem I have is that the X display blinks totally black every few seconds. This is immediately obvious when using the system: it starts right away when X is started. The problem occurs both with and without direct rendering, with and without DGA, and also with XFree86 4.0.1 release. The second problem is that X is probing my RAMDAC incorrectly. It shows a max pixel clock of 300 MHz, when in fact it is capable of 360 MHz. XFree86 4.0.1 probes this value correctly. My hardware is MGA G400 MAX 32MB on a Via KX133 machine. I anyone else seeing these problems? Everything was working fine after the glibc/gcc upgrade, but then after the kernel upgrade/reboot everything went to hell. -jwb |
