Slightly off-topic, perhaps... I'm one of those Matrox G400-users who's having trouble with some OpenGL programs running fine for a while, and then X freezes solid. (Other programs seem to still be running in the background, so if I knew what information would be useful for debugging, I could easily leave a script running that would periodically log such info to a file.) In Bug #111789 someone suggests that the problem might be in the Matrox BIOS, but I haven't the faintest idea how to upgrade that, or what to do in case the upgrade fails. All documentation I've found on the subject seems to assume that I'm running DOS, which I'm not. In fact, I made damn sure that DOS wasn't even included when I bought the computer. Does anyone have any idea on how to do this or, failing that, are there any less drastic ideas to try first? Torbjörn Andersson |
