Dear list (and especially Jos=E9), This is a heads-up regarding post-merge DRI driver snapshots. I tried building binary snapshots of my resume things yesterday in a post-merge tree which is why I ran into these issues. 1. It seems the XFree86 module ABI version has been bumped upwards.=20 This means that snapshots as they are currently made will NOT work when installed over an existing XFree86 4.2 installation as the XFree86 will complain of an ABI version mismatch when trying to install the new modules. If one were to ship the XFree86 binary (I briefly experimented with this) it complains about the OLD 4.2 modules it has to load and also terminates. The snapshots are incredibly handy, so it would be nice to work around this. I was planning to try and bundle all loadable modules as well as the XFree86 binary, but haven't had the time yet. 2. Due to changes in the build configuration, just applying http://dri.sourceforge.net/snapshots/scripts/dri-xfree86.sed and building won't work, as the build system tries to build bunches of libraries that are not part of the DRI CVS tree. I hacked around this as I bundle libGLU with my driver packages as well. HTH, Charl --=20 charl p. botha http://cpbotha.net/ http://visualisation.tudelft.nl/ |
