Hi! I have got an Intel 915GM graphic chip that I am trying to get to work with Linux. I was able to have it supported with xorg 11R7.0-1 and the according kernel modules built-in (2.6.15.2). Low and behold!, hardware acceleration was turned on according to glxinfo. Even though this was at least working, it had a severe problem with fullscreen mode when using OpenGL: Instead of actually stretching the image over the whole screen, it either remained a "window" the size of the configured resolution (cf. Quake III-based games) or was placed at the center of the screen with the surrounding parts of the screen being black. So I tried and changed this situation, obviously without much success. I downloaded the latest common, i810 and i915 snapshot releases from <http://dri.freedesktop.org/snapshots/>. Compilation succeeded, but when I tried to insert the modules I got FATAL: Error inserting i915 (/lib/modules/2.6.15.2/kernel/drivers/char/drm/i915.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg) with dmesg stating kobject_register failed for drm (-17) [<c027637b>] kobject_register+0x6b/0x80 [<c0137ef3>] mod_sysfs_setup+0x63/0xe0 [<c01393bb>] load_module+0x96b/0xaa0 [<c0139592>] sys_init_module+0x72/0x210 [<c0103257>] sysenter_past_esp+0x54/0x75 i915: Unknown symbol drm_cleanup_pci 1) How could I get proper DRI support with fullscreen mode? 2) What files do I have to change in order to revert the changes common, i810 and i915 have applied to the system -- even after changing some files in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/ (dri-old.*), I still can't get GLcore and GLX to be loaded? Every help appreciated! Thanks in advance Moritz -- (o_ web http://www.4momo.de //\ mail momo at 4momo dot de V_/_ gpg http://gpg.notlong.com |
