Anyway, the way radeon memory map are setup is bogus and may be related to the lockup you face. Thus you may want to try patchs from Benjamin : http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2006-January/012563.html You shouldn't experience immediate lockup with these patchs. You may also want to follow bugs related to these issues look on bugzilla.freedesktop.org. Btw does xorg lockup if you disable dri ? (check that xserver can't load radeon module) best, Jerome Glisse |
