* Jerome Glisse <j.g...@gm...> [06-01-23 15:25]: >Why not using radeonfb ? When setting up the current and my last laptop (ati 7500 iirc), I had always problems with radeonfb, e.g. lockups after resuming. While searching the dri-users archive I read again, that radeonfb caused trouble. So I'm a little bit biased but would test again, if resuming would work. >Strange torcs doesn't seems to be a high polys & tex games :) glxinfo >tell you directed rendering on ? Does torcs tell you that too ? Some program >load libGL with RTLD_LAZY (don't remember which one was wrong) and so >dri fail to initialize. You better check that torcs actualy use dri. glxinfo shows that dri is enabled; I have no idea how to make sure that torcs actually uses it. Given the fglrx driver as reference, r300 from cvs is as fast as fglrx when there are just few cars visible. With more cars torcs gets _very_ slow and much slower than the r300 driver from Debian's libgl1-mesa-dri package. The latter is slower than fglrx, but torcs is still playable. >Don't know much on this suspend issue (i have no laptop so i guess >i never care :)) Benh might be able to tell us more on that. To me this is the most interesting point, so I'm very curious to hear something about this. Cheers, Torsten |
