I have a thinkpad a30 with a radeon m6 LY chipset (16MB) Running on Slackware 10.1. I use the kernel source from linux-militia.net (-ck) so can recompile my kernel. Until now I've been using the default dri that comes with the kernel, and ahve been getting only about 390 FPS in GLXgears. I ran the install.sh script that came with the radeon snapshot and eveyrthing seemed to install correctly, and I did the same with the common snapshot. But for some reason everything runs on the old DRI. So I redid my kernel, and removed support for DRM. And reran the scripts and GLXINFO still reports Mesa DRI Radeon 20041207 as the rendere string. Shouldnt that change to 2005? Regardless I looked into /usr/X11R6/lib/modules and the radeon_drv.0 is in fact larger than the one that comes with all my other slackware boxes, yet it still lists the aformentioned renderer string, and GLXGears still runs at the same speed. What am I doing wrong? Thank you. first-thought//giver-of-will __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
