System: Matrox G400, BP6 with 2 Celeron 366's@600 MHz, 256MB PC-133 SDRAM @ CAS2 XFree86 4.0.2/DRI CVS from today SuSE Linux 7.1, Kernel 2.4.2-SMP patched with hardware sensors, OV511, and international patch MGA Options: Option "NoHal" Option "SWcursor" Option "PciRetry" Option "OverclockMem" Option "AGPMode" "2" (I've tried going easy on the clock speeds and the result is the same). Alright, I pulled the DRI CVS earlier this afternoon and built the MGA driver. Several of my previous (severe) problems seems to have been fixed, most notably: I can now run as many copies of Gears as my heart desires. At one point, I had 20 copies running simultaneously, all overlapping and some part ways off the screen, some shaded, etc. Seems to work excellent. The green banding patterns in mentioned in the Evas demo have disappeared. Now, there a few items I reported that don't seem to work right yet: 1) Opening and closing the OpenGL spectrum analyzer in XMMS a few times will cause XMMS to quit abruptly with the following messages in my terminal: Gdk-ERROR **: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) serial 39 error_code 2 request_code 146 minor_code 13 I suspect this a problem with XMMS and not DRI. Nothing show-stopping here, as I can simply restart XMMS and go about my merry way. However, I don't receive this error with a similar system with a G400 and Utah-GLX (closing the OGL analyzer works as expected). 2) Running the Evas demo with OpenGL will hang the X server (ala. "obscuring window bug") if the window is moved partially off the screen, is obscured, or shaded. The mouse continues to function. The server must be killed from a remote login, but this is not a garantee that I will be able to recover the console. This is a GLU 1.3 app. Moving or obscuring the Blender window in the same fasion will result in the same type of lockup. The common thread here seems to be that both windows are very large, cosuming the entire visible area of the screen. Evas needs GLU 1.3. I am using the version from: http://mesa3d.sourceforge.net/downloads.html __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo!
