I recently got a CVS snap of the current DRI tree, updated 3 days ago (Friday the 9th), and built and installed it over the weekend. It's actually quite nice - significantly faster with my V5 5500 (SLI?), so that the Loki games I've bought are playable. :) However, I am now seeing a little weirdness after playing with them a bit. Nothing fatal (they seem pretty stable), but visual oddities: - in Soldier of Fortune (1.06a), the opening screen's spinning globe has a couple missing polys/polystrips - you can see past the surface, and it looks hollow. Also, in the game itself, (both the intros and first-person play) objects are disappearing or becoming translucent again too soon (like on the train level, where when you're standing on top of one of the box cars, the flatbed car below and the boxes on it don't appear at all until you drop down right on top of the flatbed itself). - After playing any GL game, if I'm using anything but the top virtual resolution (i.e., same as desktop dimensions), panning down at all brings up what appears to be bitmap stores from somewhere in video memory. (After playing several games, I could see Quake NPC skins, the last image from a Quake game I'd run, the bitmap data for the skins from XMMS, etc.) Otherwise, the performance has improved _a lot_ - Unreal Tournament is much smoother to play, as is Soldier of Fortune.
