Support Requests item #434098, was updated on 2001-06-18 00:52 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200387&aid=434098&group_id=387 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Kevin A Brown (demalion) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Radeon -DRI enabled in log, but not glxi Initial Comment: OK, fresh installed RedHat 7.1. Installed Mach64 support from "show all packages" option. Picked auto- detected Radeon (my actualy card) later in installation. Why: Information in the RedHat installer said explicitly that Radeon DRI was not supported, so I figured putting files for a card for which DRI was supported would get me past some "kernel doesn't have DRI support" errors I had on my first try and get me closer. It worked...see below. I updated to radeon0.7 drivers using the install.sh script. Before it gave me an error indicating my kernel didn't have dri modules. This time, it didn't (see above), and I got the logical and expected errors in my XFree86.0.log file that versions didn't match. I updated to XFree86 4.1.0 using all modules rpmfind.net indicated I should have. All dependency problems were for 4.0.3 development and things I didn't use. Upon reboot, I got an XFree86.0.log for the first time with no errors and indicating DRI was enabled. 2 remaining problems: I have to load agpgart manually before I "startx". Very minor...my boot is text mode, I just simply type it then startx. Just don't get why I have to. After I startx, and open up a term window, and type glxinfo, I get Dri not enabled and Mesa indirect as my renderer. I can't figure out where the problem is between the good dri status in the log, and the bad dri status in glxinfo...very confusing. Log and Config file included. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200387&aid=434098&group_id=387 |
