If you're using glibc 2.2.x, try this package instead: http://www.retinalburn.net/linux/dri-xv/dri-bleeding-edge/mach64-20020920-linux.i386.tar.bz2 It's the last snapshot built with gcc 2.96 and glibc 2.2.4.
