You can add this small template: <xsl:template match="book" mode="for-menu-title"> <xsl:text>PLplot</xsl:text> </xsl:template> (I haven't yet tested this myself, I'll try to do when I get back home this weekend.) In all likelihood, I will also just make it the default, in the next version of docbook2X, to use the "abbreviated" titles for the directory entry.
