Chris, I am running the linux version of djatoka, but when I first installed it I had a similar issue. The cause of my NoClassDefFoundError was that the djatoka classes were not running under the sun java runtime. They were actually running under the gnu java runtime that came with my distrubution of linux. Perhaps yours are using an apache version of the java runtime environment? I'm not sure how you would fix that in windows, but hopefully this gives you a starting point. -Matt ________________________________ From: mailing lists [mailto:lis...@gm...] Sent: Thursday, December 04, 2008 10:05 AM To: dja...@li... Subject: [djatoka-devel] trying to get djatoka running Hey there, I am trying to get djatoka running on a local tomcat installation on windows XP. I am using version 5.5, and it seems to be running just fine. I read the Getting Started documentation and have followed the instructions as best I could. I was a bit unclear where to place the untarred files in windows, so I just created a directory at the root of the C drive. I tried running the compress.bat file from there, but got a java error: "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: gov/lanl/adore/djatoka/DjatokaCompress" Next, I placed the war file in the webapps dir and I can get to the demo page. When I start tomcat, I get a warning in the catalina log stating in part "validateJarFile(C:\apache-tomcat-5.5.27\webapps\adore-djatoka\WEB-INF\l ib\servlet-api.jar) - jar not loaded." When I click on the buttons to display the sample image, I get an error 500 from tomcat. The error's not showing up in the logs, so I am not sure what the error is. I did, however, notice that an image is being created in my %catalina_home%/temp dir each time I get the error, so something seems to be happening. I am trying to figure out what is going wrong but am not having much success, I don't really even know if the two errors have the same root cause. Any help would be appreciated. Chris Moyers |
