I create packages that go into /opt, you can add links for startup on your floppy and download the app, apache, using wget and "tar zxvf -" I run ldd to find the libs and put them into a /opt/<apache>/lib directory. You can keep it on your mirrored old LVM/RAID drives or download it with every reboot and use something like samba to get the content data. Apache is useful for redirecting to other servers based on URL address, which thttpd doesnt do.
