Assuming you are using the daemon-control script to start/stop DenyHosts (which is included in the DH package on Sourceforge)... Try editing the daemon-control script and adding the line: os.environ['HOSTNAME'] = "your_HOSTNAME_goes_here" after line #33 Such that the file should look like this: # make sure 'ps' command is accessible (which should be # in either /usr/bin or /bin.
