Denyhosts List: It appears that "/usr/local/sbin/daemon_control stop" does not work. It returns a statement that denyhosts is not running -- even though it is. (And the pid file does exist, and is correct.) Also, where does one set the "--purge" flag such that it is automatically applied when the system boots. It is my understanding that purged IPs will be re-added if the attacker becomes active again (anywhere) -- and will not be purged if the attacker has been active anywhere within the PURGE_DENY period. Is this the way it works? (By "anywhere" I mean anywhere that is reported to your network -- as opposed to an attack on my system specifically) Thanks, sjf **************************** |
