Hi there all of you I wanted to report a few glitches originally reported by BGane in thread http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/Forum12/HTML/014510.html "When bringing up the menu (ie by right clicking) - there is significant flicker in the video display while changing menu options. Is there anything that can be done to smooth this?" I haven't tested that lately. In my mind, it's smooth but I guess a small flicker could have gone by un-noticed. "Changing "video adjustments". There are several cases where the sliders won't move, or where the cursor disappears and I can't make any changes - including getting the video adjustment window to close." I've experienced this one. Both symptoms ; mouse pointer getting invisible and some difficulties to move sliders from time to time. "When changing video filters, I had a few instances where the stability of the input signal sensor went wild - switching from NTSC to PAL, and through the chain of possible formats. All I was doing was changing the filters - nothing to do with the signal format. My workaround has been to fix the format on NTSC, rather than rely upon autosense" The only filter I try from time to time is the noise reduction and I haven't experienced such a thing. Regarding auto-calibration now. Laurent did a nice addition to his code by drawing several frames on the screen to show the various areas that are taken into account during calibration. This is rather useful as some test pattern, when beta testing, were putting the mess in the autocalibration. Those frames help in centering the pattern so that the calibration will have the correct inputs. Definitely a good thing. The manua+auto calibr + the help page + this "grid" feature will make a solid thing for the delivery. People won't have the problems we had during beta testing and will profit from this immediately. Nice job Laurent ! Yvonus PS ; full OT but the "What they say about Dscaler" page has progressed a lot. It'll be online as soon as Daniel changes the cvs/web sync procedure to take into account this directory. |
