You could do it yourself. Sebastian, Sandra, all -- Yes, I have an account with appropriate edit permissions, but I do not sufficiently understand how *this* wiki engine works. I believe the second image is here -- http://wifo5-03.informatik.uni-mannheim.de/pubby/images/pubby-architecture.png (I am not certain that image is identical to the original, though the filename and content are certainly similar.) External image file linkage isn't generally appropriate, so these should be brought into the "new" wiki filespace. There is no obvious way to upload two image files for use on this single wiki page. It appears that if I upload one image through the EDIT interface, it gets displayed at the bottom of the page regardless of whether it's been included in the body content. It is not clear what wiki engine this is, so I cannot simply search the web for help on the above. Thanks, Ted > Sebastian > > > Am 13. Some feedback, I just received with good ideas. -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: about communication of DBpedia, getting more people involved Date: Fri, 12 Feb 2016 13:32:04 +0100 From: Ruud Steltenpool <ru...@st...> Reply-To: ru...@st... To: hel...@in... Sebastian, Just mentioned some things to you during lunch here at DBpediaTheHague: Making a 'hello world' kind of thing that loads in DBpedia data should be as absolute easy as possible, almost as simple as how one starts with HTML+JS. Historically many technologies won that were not as good as their competitors, but were easier to start with ... And to connect with some smart and broad creative thinkers: - connect with the D3 community through: = getting linked data flavours loading into the D3 library, next to the already available csv, json, xml = getting some really nice examples into key places - take part in Mozilla festival aka Mozfest - take part in TheGraphicalWeb, Exeter (UK), Nov.1-4, 2016 Hope that helps, Ruud Steltenpool, colleague of Gerald Wildenbeest (known from Dutch DBpedia) |

Dear all, for Dissemination purposes we set up a DBpedia Facebook page as we currently only have a DBpedia group which is more suitable for discussions of specific dbpedia issues whereas the page is better for announcements, dissemination etc. So please like and share :) https://www.facebook.com/dbpedia.org/ Best Sandra |

Dear all, we at InfAI rearranged the DBpedia/ About section. We reduced the drop-down menu in its complexity and shifted some content. Our special focus was the DBpedia Team page and that is exactly where I need your contribution. We categorized DBpedia's major contribution into 3 main types namely EU projects (that supported DBpedia), companies and individuals. Would you please have a look @ http://wiki.dbpedia.org/about/dbpedia-team-members and add further relevant EU-project to the page. The next steps will be to improve the following aspects of the DBpedia Website: - language chapters - get involved - section o FAQ o Support o ... If you have any comment regarding the TeamPage, the language chapters, the get involved section or the Website in general, please let me know. Dear all, The DBpedia Community meeting in California has been over now for almost 10 days. We should take that as a reason to reach out to the wider community and report on the event. Therefore, it would be great to have a blog post and an entry in the news section of the website. @ Those of you who attended the meeting in California: Could you please provide me with a short summary about the event, topics that were discussed, interesting outcomes of discussions etc.? I will then try to compile a short text to be published via blog and/or news. Please send me your input ASAP, latest until Tuesday, 17th of November. Thank you for your help. Dear all, I am Sandra and since the beginning of October I am supporting the InfAI-team to work on DBpedia matters. One of the first issues I have to take care of is the DBpedia website. I am supposed to coordinate changes that need to be done with the website. There are a few rather pressing issues and some that are not as urgent but need be dealt with nonetheless. I collected a list of issues that need to be dealt with ASAP. Feel free to add your ideas t it. Urgent matters: - broken / dead links (will be dealt with @ InfAI) - pages without content such as http://wiki.dbpedia.org/faq http://wiki.dbpedia.org/get-involved/dbpedia-groups http://wiki.dbpedia.org/get-involved/meetings-calls - general colour scheme--> there is too much white ---> drop down menues overlapp/ content collides (maybe having some sort if CI ) - pages that need some work: http://wiki.dbpedia.org/get-involved/get-help “home” page – change layout/colour scheme, font further matters (incomplete) - Update of publications (last one from 2013) - News - set up of some sort of overview of people and their attribution/ function+a little picture in order to give dbpedia a face/faces - Support page Please let me know your thoughts and add to the list, if something comes up that relates to website issues. Furthermore, in case you have suggestions for solutions just let me and the others know. I would like us to share the work that needs to be done on the website. Therefore, I set up a working space here: http://wiki.dbpedia.org/ideas/ideas/ for everyone to contribute, comment and to share the effort. All the best Sandra |

Hi all, I recorded a 13 min presentation about business models for the FREME project (http://freme-project.eu/). https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Mk5ouIspH1SUJSeTZhUzRnZ0U/view?usp=sharing slides: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1EOeMhOGtAFNFwvPW4nuNsj82GeT9WKfvzPuWgv6tMjA/edit?usp=sharing The progress was dormant for a while, but we should start to push this again. I am also back from parental leave. I see this communication group as central to set up a proper communication infrastructure within the project. Something that has happened quite ad-hoc up until now. I would probably proceed with the telcos as before, but separating the documents into statutes and business model. Are there any other ideas or suggestions, how to proceed, improve, focus efforts? There are still a lot of pages to move/merge. I started to mark them orange. Additional, we don't know where to move some pages. It would be great, if you could make some suggestions. I started to mark these pages yellow for a little orientation. Thanks a lot for your help and time! Kind regards, Majura |

Hi Diego, the Dataset and Download page is difficult. Currently and more so in the future, we will accept outside datasets and contributions. So the datasets page needs to llook like the http://dbpediawww.informatik.uni-leipzig.de/projects page, where I would like to see and entry for each http://wiki.dbpedia.org/Applications Current datasets are: DBpedia Core DBpedia Commons DBpedia Wikidata DBpedia Wiktionary (maybe via DBnary.org) some more for sure The Download page would more a description on how to access the data. Hi Lieke, the moving is also manual, because it is easier than writing some script. You can just select the old page with a mouse and copy it. The HTML gets carried over fine to the new website when you paste it. We also need to think about how to allow people to have their own space and add content. With a wiki this was easy like here: http://wiki.dbpedia.org/OpenCyc Now we need to decide, whether we allow this in Drupal somewhere or relate to an extra wiki, e.g. at GitHub or at mappings.dbpedia.org I would really like to keep as much as possible on the main site. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: *Diego Moussallem* <die...@gm...> Date: Wednesday, April 29, 2015 Subject: [Dbpedia-communication] Website improvement To: Sebastian Hellmann <hel...@in...> Hi all, @sebastian, i verified all pages and updated the spreadsheet document. I started to move in some links, but i didn't continue because i got some doubts and also i don't know until i can go. For example, Datasets/Downloads pages - Can i create submenu? because, this pages has many subpages. @dimitris, i was browsing and i see that it's better delete the property "display:block;" of images in line "style.css?nmla2e:32". Like this the pages content will be with a design good. for example http://dbpediawww.informatik.uni-leipzig.de/about/language-chapters . @nilesh, i updated the events page. But, when i click in http://dbpediawww.informatik.uni-leipzig.de/events, it shows a message error. Can you verify please? The merging is a manual action I suppose. So I sign up for that.
