Can you use mysql on the command line when you use the "--host=localhost" option? % mysql --host=localhost database_name I think that the mysql command bypasses network connectivity if you don't specify a host name. If specifying localhost on the command line fails, then it is indeed a MySQL configuration issue and not a DataVision issue.
