I can think of no reason that cx_Freeze should fail when used for cgi. As noted in that thread it is quite possible that some error is taking place which you cannot see. Most cgi environments have a limited environment (less environment variables, shorter path, etc.) which can cause problems. I would recommend creating a shell script that calls your script, dumping stderr to some log file as in: #! /bin/sh /the/full/path/to/your/executable with your options 2> /some/file/to/write/errors_to.log That should help you find out what the problem is.
