Hi, I just tried to use ~/.ctags (for adding support for a few M$-related languages). I used there ctags as it comes with cygwin. Two remarks / suggestions: 1) If I save ~/.ctags with dos eol (in vim ff=dos), the file is apparently not recognized by ctags. I had to save it as ff=unix. Furthermore I recognized, that errors in this file are not reported. I tried for example to include shell like comments (starting with a '#', see below) which resulted in the configuration NOT beeing read, but I saw this only by using 'ctags --verbose'. My suggestion: emit a warning, if there are unparsable options in the config files. 2) allow shell-like comments: # this is a comment --langde=basic ... -- Johannes |
