Hi, When I tag my sources, Emacs backup files are also processed. How can I exclude them from being tagged? I normally run ctags recursively on my C++ source root like this: ctags -e -R --c-types=+C --file-tags=yes --totals --lang=c++ mydir The resulting tags file will contain tags for both: foo.cpp foo.cpp~ But .cpp~ is not part of the default C++ language map: ctags -V Installing option defaults Setting default header extensions: h, H, hh, hpp, hxx, h++, inc, def Setting default asm map: asm, s, S Setting default AWK map: awk, gawk, mawk Setting default BETA map: bet Setting default C map: c Setting default C++ map: c++, cc, cpp, cxx, h, hh, hpp, hxx, h++, C, H Setting default COBOL map: cob, COB Setting default Eiffel map: e Setting default Fortran map: f, for, ftn, f77, f90, f95, F, FOR, FTN, F77, F90, F95 Setting default Java map: java Setting default Lisp map: cl, clisp, el, l, lisp, lsp, ml Setting default Perl map: pl, pm, perl Setting default Python map: py, python Setting default Scheme map: SCM, SM, sch, scheme, scm, sm Setting default sh map: sh, SH, bsh, bash, ksh Setting default Tcl map: tcl, wish Setting default Vim map: vim I'm running: Exuberant Ctags 4.0.3 NT4.0 SP6a Thanks, -- Niels Skou Olsen, M.Sc.
