Date: Monday, 24 November, 2008, 1:42 PM In summary, it's not going too well. Thought I'd make some notes here, in case it helps others, or improves future cases or documentation. I could run the connectfour example ok, but had several issues, and still have one, with my more complex production case. I run with the binary distribution. I have it in one directory, and my config and projects and logs, etc., in another directory. So, at first, after making my normal modifications to cruisecontrol.sh and web.xml, it wouldn't run and thus began the debugging. First, the removal of the dateformat element took me many hours to figure out (I'm ashamed to admit how many!). I saw it documented in release notes, and eventually finally saw it in buried deep in exception stack traces, but it would have been easier if the tag had been left in place and marked 'deprecated' and users warned not to use it any longer, even if it was having no effect. Guess from reading the release notes, I didn't quite see that it literally had been removed, and could no longer be contained in config files, or would prevent startup. I am still not sure exactly what the new "ISO 8601 format" means or what the change will do to my other scripts. So, it might be pretty breaking, unless it's exactly like what I had picked out in my (previous) dateformat tag for all projects ... 20081119090742. Second, odd things with Jetty. I could not get Jetty to work right, when launching from my usual, non-CCDIR. It would run, but could not find any of the webapps. I tried setting "new" parameters as described in http://cruisecontrol.sourceforge.net/gettingstartedbindist.html, such as -webapppath path, -dashboardurl [dashboard url] but nothing seemed to help until I specified my non-default port in the jetty.xml file (I was, and always have specified -webport explicitly). Now ... the odd thing ... I "backed out" all those changes, and it still works now ok!? Not sure if I changed something else and just forget, or if something flaky is going on with cached data. Just thought I'd note it. It was confusing though, that the parameters specified in the online documentation is a subset of the parameters specified by cruisecontrols "usage statement" (when is doesn't start correctly). Third, and my still current problem, everything starts and is displayed ok, but when a project attempts to run, I get error messages regarding AntProgressXmlLogger ... saying "net.sourceforge.cruisecontrol.builders.AntProgressXmlLogger could not be loaded because of an invalid dependency". So, the project build doesn't even start. I do run all my ant stuff with my own ant installation, and specify antscript in the ant element, so not sure where this particular logger is coming from. I know that's not much to go on, but if anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated.
