I often find it better to go with a different weapon than long blades as tso player because you can keep using scrolls to enchant the weapon. The "blessed blade" should be more special, i am wondering what other players think about tso and his blessed blade final power.
Well, I don't actually play TSOites, but I think the point is that you try to enchant a long blade as high as you like and then bless it to fix its enchantment, get some bonus and the holy wrath brand. I've been thinking about blessed blades still allowing further enchantment (like non-artefacts) but preventing corrosion (like artefacts), but that would completely remove any choices: you would use the power as soon as you have the weapon you want to keep and enough piety.
The fixation on long blades strikes me as a bit annoying, though.
I made them enchanteable, but, with enchantment <+5, corrodeable as well.
Is the corrosion-proof enchantment limited documented by now? (This pertains to non-blessed blades, as well.)
from c-r-d:
This can be done but might have warranted some discussion. There is a reason why I suggested to make blade an artefact upon blessing: it requires a decision of *when* to bless. Whereas with your change (which has its own merits), it is best to bless as soon as possible, assuming you have a weapon you find bless-worthy.

My response would be that you still need to decide whether to bless that lousy scimitar now, or to look around for a double sword or a katana...
On IRC, there was agreement that Blessed Blades should be at least better than non-sword weapons since sword are TSO's preferred things.

yes i agree with this, it is better to fret about which type of weapon to bless than to horde enchant scrolls and not bless till the game is 2/3 over. -pigvomit
