I believe it works the same as the deliverquota command which will send a warning message roughly every 24 hours: http://www.courier-mta.org/deliverquota.html > And why doesn't courier-imap send this message? Because courier-imap is meant to access mail, not send it. Courier-IMAP can notify quota-aware IMAP clients such as Thunderbird that the user is nearing their quota.
