Category: ERROR Group: v2.1 >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Submitted By: D. Mark Simms (dmsimms) >Assigned to: Sebastian Stein (steinchen) Summary: Error when creating new docs where folder name has a '#' Initial Comment: If I create a folder whose name has a '#' and then go into that folder and click "Create Document" I get the following error: javax.servlet.ServletException: Cannot find bean parenttype in any scope (Attached is a text document with the entire displayed exception) Based on the URL for the "Create Document" link: /contineo/AddDoc.do?parentid=764&parentname=TG # Test&parenttype=3 It appears that because '#' represents a named anchor in a hyperlink that it's causing problems. Basically, the # has to be URL encoded before being passed as part of a parameter to AddDoc.do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Sebastian Stein (steinchen) Date: 2006-07-16 19:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=79775 I fixed that today, the change will be released with Contineo 2.1.1 and any later releases. Mark Simms (dmsimms) Date: 2006-07-12 12:19 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1550574 My apologies; I misunderstood. That certainly sounds like an acceptable solution. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sebastian Stein (steinchen) Date: 2006-07-12 08:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=79775 With not allow I meant to prevent that folders with special characters can be created. Therefore I like to restrict the possible chars allowed while creating a folder. This should work the same as with usernames. Mark Simms (dmsimms) Date: 2006-07-12 00:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1550574 But that is only a temporary solution. We want to integrate this into our portal and our users will be creating folders. Will this be fixed in the future? Again, I believe it's a matter of URL encoding the string to be appended as a URL parameter. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sebastian Stein (steinchen) Date: 2006-07-11 22:52 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=79775 I can confirm this bug. The best solution would be to not allow folder and menu names with any special characters.
