Note: You don't have to rely on a fixed IP address. You can pass your machines IP address as a colinux boot parameter. i.e. If you boot script contains: <bootparams>root=/dev/cobd0 MYIPADDRESS=192.168.1.1</bootparams> then in your initrc script you can do: echo $MYIPADDRESS > /etc/My-IPAddress and in your /etc/profile you can do: ESPEAKER=`cat /etc/My-IPAddress`:6001 export ESPEAKER While you are at it, you can also export your display: DISPLAY=`cat /etc/My-IPAddress`:0 export DISPLAY Rather than manually editing your colinux configuration each time you boot, you can use cygwin script to generate the file on the fly, or use 'sed' to exchange values.
