For users like myself who have no interest in the Python dependancies and other niceties provided by the automated installer, would it be possible to make available an alternative package that included only the required binaries and the net related drivers in an official tar.bzip? This would ideally include the contents of the CoLinux directory (including the OpenVPN netdriver dir for tap drivers) without any default.colinux.xml or base images or any other 3rd party or external software/files (except for the already mentioned OpenVPN netdriver dir). I laud the current effort to package CoLinux using the NSIS installer as it is both very slick and by all accounts, is working out really well, particularly for new users. On-the-other-hand, other classes of users exist who require more flexibility without having to build from sources for themselves. For example, scripting a network install of several remote machines (perhaps a farm) would be far simpler with a tar.bzip than with an interactive installer. I am particularly interested in having the snapshots made available in this way. Presently I am making my own packages for these purposes but not having a recognized 'official' source is always a stickler. On another note, after reading much about X-Server/VNC solutions on the list, I was wondering how many are interested in using CoLinux for headless services? This is presently my main interest as both native Linux desktops and the Windows desktop itself are far more performant than CoLinux for this task, at this time. (as a side note, I haven't had any problems having several cygwin dll's loaded at a given time) Thanks for the consideration, xo boots __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
